In this particular meeting Helen Dingman reported for the Educational Committee and presented a new leaflet that was done to present basic information about the Guild. New membership regulations were presented for vote. Clementine Douglas spoke about her trip to Washington, D.C. for the Rural Arts Exhibition. Douglas then spoke about the collection of craft items Frances Goodrich had donated to the Guild and the opportunity to display the collection at the Asheville Normal and Teachers College. Paul Johnson, representing the Southern Highlanders, reported on the possibility of a shop in the Shenandoah National Park. Winogene Redding spoke about materials being sent to China for replication. Helen Dingman took the minutes. Also included are an attendance list and several pages of financial information. The Southern Highland Handicraft Guild was founded in 1930 as the Southern Mountain Handicraft Guild. The name was changed to the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild in 1933 and again in the 1990s to the Southern Highland Craft Guild.
