Description
Goingback Chiltoskey (1907-2000), also known as Going Back Chiltoskie and G. B. Chiltosky, was a renowned Cherokee Indian woodcarver who also taught wood crafts at the Cherokee School in Cherokee, North Carolina. Here he is demonstrating relief carving in wood. This photograph was taken by an unknown photographer at the 1948 Craftsman's Fair of the Southern Highlands in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
