Description
Emma Conley taught spinning at Penland School. She was one of the older generation of makers who were able to pass their knowledge on during the Craft Revival. Here she is shown spinning fiber while a child helps by carding. This photograph was taken by Allen Kegley at the 1950 Craftsman's Fair of the Southern Highlands in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
