Description

Goingback Chiltoskey (1907-2000), also known as Going Back Chiltoskie and G. B. Chiltosky, was a renowned Cherokee Indian woodcarver who also taught wood crafts at the Cherokee School in Cherokee, North Carolina. In this photograph he is shown at a table displaying finished carvings. This photograph was taken by Edward Dupuy at the 1951 Craftsman's Fair of the Southern Highlands in Asheville, North Carolina.
