Description

This photograph depicts the Edward F. Worst Craft House on the campus of the Penland School of Handicrafts (now Penland School of Crafts). The building was named after the school's first weaving instructor, Edward F. Worst. The structure was erected during a community log-raising held in early May 1935. This photograph, taken by Bayard Wootten circa 1936 - 1940, was subsequently printed as a postcard.
