Description

Hand-molded bayberry candles were produced and sold by the Penland Weavers and Potters from 1930 until around 1967. The candles measured 10" long and were usually sold one or two to a box. Cards, like this one, were inserted into each box of the popular holiday item. The legend printed on the card is said to date back to colonial times in the United States. Bayberry candles are made from wax extracted from the berries of the bayberry shrub.
