Description

This is a watercolored drawdown of the coverlet pattern called Abraham Lincoln's Destruction, created by Frances L. Goodrich. The use of graph paper indicates that this pattern was drawn later in her life, likely between 1920 and 1940. The draft strip from which this drawdown was created was originally collected by C. J. Merchant Gay in 1898/99 and shared with Goodrich. The draft strip has the title and the added note "Candler, N.C." on the back.
