Description
This reed is in a frame which would be the beater bar on a loom. The reed keeps the warp evenly spaced. This determines the thread count or ends per inch (EPI) of a piece of woven cloth. It is moved toward the weaver to pack the weft thread into place. The warp thread passes through each slit or dent. Weavers changed out reeds to create a variety of EPI. This loom reed was likely created between 1920 and 1950; the creator's name is unknown.
