Description

Little is known about Max V. Straub, the creator of this 100-page album of original photography. He is listed as an active member of the Photographers’ Association of America in 1915 with a residence in Canton, Ohio. This album, which is titled “Photo Album of the Great Smokey Mountains” is bound in leather and embossed with the title and the photographer’s name. Each image is dated, with dates ranging from the summer of 1926 to 1930. Most landscapes are labeled with their location and, where there are people, they are identified as well. Note the spelling of “Smokey” is not the one used today.
