Description

This “General Information” pamphlet was produced by the U.S. Department of Interior (Ray Lyman Wilbur, Secretary) and the National Park Service (Horace M. Albright, Director) to meet the “many requests for information” concerning the region of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The 15-page stapled booklet includes a description of the region, its mountains, flora, a section on fishing, and another on the Qualla Boundary, land owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The booklet lists a number of peaks within the park including the elevation of each. “Great Smoky Mountains National Park North Carolina-Tennessee” concludes with a listing of rules and regulations governing the park.
