Zebulon Weaver (1872-1948) was a lawyer and U.S. Representative from western North Carolina. He was a member of the North Carolina Park Commission and was involved in the land acquisition process that went towards establishment of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and development of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This correspondence between John Dawson, attorney, and Zebulon Weaver-a set of two letters-- relates to work on the Park-to-Park Highway. John Dawson to Zebulon Weaver , June 23, 1934 In this letter Dawson expresses concern over the delay in the completion of the Park-to-Park highway and states he was willing to help in any possible way to bring about completion of this project. Zebulon Weaver to John Dawson, July 6, 1934 In this letter Weaver thanks Dawson for his offer of support and states he would call for the latter’s help if it was needed to bring about some pressure to complete the highway project.
