Description
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was established in 1933 as a public works program during the Great Depression. There were 22 camps located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This photograph, in the CCC collection, was probably taken by a camp enrollee. The back of the image is labeled Oconaluftee River just south of Smokemont.
