Description

Santeetlah Dam was built for hydroelectric generation on the Cheoah River in Graham County, North Carolina. The Santeetlah Project, which began in 1925, was completed in 1928 by the Tallassee Power Company (now Tapoco). The back of the photograph is stamped "McLean's Fadeless Prints Knoxville Tenn." The picture is included in the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club records.
