Description

This photograph was taken looking eastward from Mt. Mingus. Mt. Chapman is visible in the distance through the gap in the mountains. The picture was made by Harvey Benjamin Broome (1902-1968), Knoxville attorney, an avid conservationist, and advocate for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Broome was active during the early years of the Wilderness Society and was a member of the Great Smoky Mountains Conservation Association. The photograph is in the collection of the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club.
