Description

This photograph is of a pair of hikers standing in the snow and ice on Roaring Fork. The picture was made by Harvey Benjamin Broome (1902-1968), Knoxville attorney, an avid conservationist, and advocate for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Broome was active during the early years of the Wilderness Society and was a member of the Great Smoky Mountains Conservation Association. The photograph is in the collection of the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club.
