Description

This 1923 photograph, of Bull Head and Balsam Top as seen from Sugarland Mountains, is in the records of the Smoky Mountains Hiking Club. The club was formed after a group of outdoor enthusiasts hiked up to Mount LeConte in October 1924. Balsam Top is on the west end of Mount LeConte, the 3rd highest peak in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Mount LeConte tops out at 6,593 ft.
