Description

This photograph of Henry Arvel Greene and Jane Patton Greene is included with an article about the Greenes. In the 1940s they moved to Whittier where they became known for preserving pioneering traditions. They assisted the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in establishing the Mountain Farm Museum at Oconaluftee. In the 1980s, the Greenes were given an award at Western Carolina University’s Mountain Heritage Day.
