Description

These 3 pages of 1901 correspondence between C. P. Ambler and A. A. Wiley discuss the possibility of obtaining a certified copy of a resolution concerning Alabama’s support for the national park movement. While the Appalachian National Park Association was successful in gaining support from southern states to purchase land for a park or forest reserve, in order to do so, each state had to cede its authority to the federal government to acquire title to such lands. A resolution passed by the Alabama General Assembly in 1901.
