This correspondence between C. P. Ambler and A. Gattinger discusses an article Gattinger is writing on “The Introduction of a Forestry Policy in the United States.” Ambler supplies the writer with a history of the national park movement. Chase P. Ambler (1865-1932) was a founding member and long-time secretary of the Appalachian National Park Association. The Appalachian National Park Association was formed in 1899 for the purpose of promoting the idea of a national park in the eastern U.S.
