Description
This 8-page report lists pledges submitted to the Parks and Forestry Committee of the Asheville Board of Trade that were turned over to the newly-formed Appalachian National Park Association. The promotion of a national park in the southern Appalachians was a project of the Board of Trade until a convention was held on November 22, 1899. At that meeting, the Appalachian National Park Association was formally established. Although housed in Asheville, North Carolina, the organization was a multi-state effort, attracting representatives from six southern states.
