Description

This 2-page article, “The Proposed Appalachian Forest Reserve from a Climatological Point of View” was written by Chase Ambler and reprinted from the Charlotte Medical Journal. In promoting a national park in the southern Appalachians, the association’s Secretary Chase P. Ambler (1865-1932), a medical and founder of the Ambler Heights Sanitarium, wrote dozens of editorials. These were submitted to newspapers and magazines throughout the east coast. After the editorials were published, the Appalachian National Park Association reprinted and circulated them as part of their promotional campaign.
