Description

In this letter of July 25, 1925, George Washington Carver writes to Mrs. J.H. (Margaret Gillespie) Slagle, talking of his affection for her son Thomas (Dick) and his desire to meet the rest of her family. Carver indicates that he wishes for Dick to work with him as a chemist, and says that a position will be available if he desires it. Carver emphasizes his commitment to Dick's future success and talks about how he hopes to be able to be a mentor for the younger man, and he closes the letter by expressing his affection for the family and offering his prayers for them.
