In a letter to her family, on June 13, 1935, Josephina Niggli writes about a mutual friend of the family who has worked on Niggli's clothes. She remarks on the fine quality of her new travel silk, as well as the cost to ship her luggage back to Chapel Hill. Niggli also mentions a new room she has rented out to teach English to a group of boys, and expresses her excitement at the prospect of a new typewriter that has yet to be delivered. Also of note is Niggli's mentioning of the film "British Agent," a production that opened in September of 1934. Niggli goes on to mention the various professors and playwrites she met at Chapel Hill on her first day on campus, meeting with them for both lunch and dinner. Lastly, she mentions that while at dinner, she was asked to play some Mexican pieces, with all of the guests joining in to sing La Cucaracha. In a message post-script she expresses her suprise at the guest's admiration for the school.
