Description
In a letter to her grandmother, written on October 10, 1935, Josephina Niggli inquires in the recent sickness that has befallen her grandmother, pitying her for having to drink 3 bottles of beet wine. Niggli goes on to ask who the doctor was that attended to her grandmother, as she was not familiar with him. She also mentions the blouse made by her grandmother, saying that everyone on campus must have noticed her wearing it, and that she's allowing a friend to borrow it. Niggli reminds her grandmother to send her a photograph and also inquires into what the doctor had to say about the welfare of her mother's feet. In closing Niggli praises the pens and earrings her grandmother sent her, and jokes that the soap she was given was meant to be a hint. On the back of the letter Niggli writes that she is eating a piece of the candy her family has sent her as she writes.
