In a letter to Horace Kephart on September 12, 1918, Marc Woodmansee discusses the photographs of his Kentucky rifle collection he has sent to Kephart. Woodmansee assures Kephart that the photographs hardly do the rifles justice, as they cannot display the subtle craftsmanship in the maple woodwork distinctly. He also expresses his desire for the rifles to be featured on a full page in "Outing" magazine alongside Kephart's article, provided the magazine pay for a professional photographer.
