In this letter of October 8, 1898, Walter G. Hudson writes presumably Horace Kephart regarding Kephart’s Sharpshooters organization. He discusses various gun types, the Los Angeles sharpshooters, who he thinks should organize a movement out west. Hudson requests a copy of the bylaws so that he can get a New York contingent together. He has interested men and a practice space. He suggests the test for qualification into a sharpshooter company be set high.
