In this letter of August 26, 1946, Roy Ferris Kephart writes his grandmother Laura Kephart to thank her for her letter. He vents about his experience in the Army and hopes his brother Hod won’t have to serve time. He says that being overseas has taught him that the world is not a “mass of roses.” He tells her about breaks he has had including a cruise up the Rhine. He has been invited to his Taft High class reunion that he would give anything to go to. He says his parent’s anniversary is coming up and that on that day he will have six months left to serve.
