Description

In this letter of December 23, 1942, Leonard Kephart (1892-1988) writes his mother, Laura Kephart to wish her a Merry Christmas. He fills her in on his work life as well as his personal life. His daughter Jane has just had a baby making him a Grandpop. Jane’s husband Ralph has orders to transfer to Salt Lake City, so Jane will soon follow. His son Buddy is Ensign in command on an Atlantic Ferret 83 foot ship that patrols around Cape Hatteras. Barbara who is living in the KD sorority house and his own house is full of family and roomers. He ends by telling her that when he was in Daytona during a black out he found himself at Kephart’s Tourist Courts and had a talk with the manager about the Kepharts they know.
