Description

Named for H.T. Hunter, the Hunter Library was constructed in 1953. Hiram Tyram Hunter (1883-1947) served as president from 1923 to 1947. This photograph shows the library undergoing construction. Due to the college’s growing student body, a library addition was completed 15 years after Hunter was built. First Lady, “Lady Bird” Johnson spoke at its dedication in 1967.
