Description
Named for H.T. Hunter, the Hunter Library was constructed in 1953. Hiram Tyram Hunter (1883-1947) served as president from 1923 to 1947. Due to the college’s growing student body, a library addition was completed 15 years after Hunter was built. First Lady, “Lady Bird” Johnson spoke at its dedication in 1967. She can be seen in the center of the photograph.
