Description
W. B. Harrill Residence Hall was dedicated in April of 1973. It was named for William Bunyan Harrill, who worked at Western Carolina from 1947 until his retirement in 1966. During that time he served as director of public relations and director of the summer school. He was a professor of education and served twice as the acting dean of the College of Education. The building was built by the H. L. Coble Construction Co. of Greensboro and designed by the architectural firm of Baber and Wood. Construction cost $1,560,000.
