Abstract
Built from the Broken, set in the Adirondacks of New York State, depicts a diseased relationship between a father, Abraham Culver, and his son, Joel. After being informed that Abe is ill with Alzheimer's, Joel enlists as his father's full-time caregiver. Over the course of five chapters, Abe and Joel try to reconcile their differences while their sordid pasts unexpectedly surface
