Description

Come with Amy, and share memories of the Golden Farm in Tuckasegee with “The Chicken-Killing Rock.” (Asheville’s The Muses close the segment with “Down to the River to Pray”.) Doreyl’s guest on Creative Corner is Dominick DePalo, a visual artist and art instructor from Waynesville, who has painted the great Roy Rogers and more. They discuss his participation in the upcoming show ColorFest 2012 in Dillsboro. (Paul Sullivan’s “Happy Trails to You” follows the interview.) On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy’s guest is 91-year old Bertie Elizabeth Parris from Alarka, who tells about her very interesting life. (Mountain Faith closes the segment with “When We All Get to Heaven.”) On Black Roots of Appalachia, Victoria’s guest is Edith Callahan, teacher of the year for Smoky Mountain High School. (“There is a Fountain” by a Southern gospel quartet follows the interview.) Judy’s guest on Down Another Road is Sheila Kay Adams, an author from Madison County. They talk about the writing process. (“Hangin’ by a Thread” by the Clover closes the segment.) The show ends with “Under the Double Eagle” by Lee Moore.
