Description
The show begins with Amy sharing her memories of how the women in her family wore dresses and when pants came into style. “Ancient of Days” accompanies the story. On Creative Corner, Doreyl's guest is again Mary Jo Hooper Cobb. This week Mary shares some stories about her mother, Gladys Denton Hooper, and her life of commitment and service. “A Beautiful Life” by Lonesome Sound follows the interview. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy spends more time with Joyce Posey Starr. In this installment, Joyce shares some memories of her teenage years in Needmore, NC. She and her husband collect antiques and display them at Mountain Heritage Day every year. Jo Northup and Richard Birt’s rendition of “When You Wish Upon a Star” follows the interview. Doreyl's interview with Peggy Dawson from June 30, 2012, is rebroadcast. Peggy talks about garden mulching and insect deterrents. The segment is followed by “The Garden” by Clover. On Down Another Road, Judy continues her conversation with Sheila Kay Adams, who talks about Fred Cochran and others who influenced her banjo music. Sheila plays “Ducks on the Mill Pond,” and the segment ends with “John Henry” by Henry Queen. The show concludes with “Under the Double Eagle” by Lee Moore.
