Description
In Amy's story “Brown Drops of Chinquapin Memories”, she tells about how she and her siblings used to pick chinquapins on Wolf Mountain during Decoration Day celebrations. “Daydream Believer” accompanies the story. On Creative Corner, Doreyl talks with retiree Kenneth Lambert ("Sir Lamps-a-Lot") of Lake Junaluska. He talks about his work making lamps out of cups, saucers and other kitchen implements such as cookie jars and teapots. “Down to the River to Pray” by the Muses follows the interview. Amy’s guest on Stories of Mountain Folk is Evelyn Coltman of Bethel NC. She talks about growing up in Bethel, helping in her grandmother’s country store, and her family's buisness Jackson Log and Lumber. The interview is followed by “Down at the Company Store” by the Company Store. On Black Roots of Appalachia, Victoria talks with Barbara Ann Rogers Coleman of Cullowhee. She talks about growing up in the Monteith Gap area and going to school in Sylva. Barbara also talks about her work with Mountain Projects, a daycare in Jackson County. The interview is followed by “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” by Andrews & Lawrence. Judy talks with Susan Moore on Down Another Road. Susan is originally from Madison County but now lives in Black Mountain. She and Judy talk about the history of Hot Springs. “Clear Creek” by Appalachian Fire follows the interview. “When We All Get to Heaven” by Mountain Faith concludes the show.
