Description

The show begins with Amy’s story “It’s Just Precious, Isn’t It?,” which is about her aunts Lillie and Cora and their hair. “I See the Lord” accompanies the story. Doreyl’s guest on Creative Corner is Isabelle Cable, who worked in the Swain County Extension Office. She talks about some of her experiences working for the extension service and how she came to be involved in extension work. The interview is followed by “Chickens” by C.W. Colt. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy talks with Jean Childers, who worked in extension service in Haywood, Transylvania, and Watauga Counties. She talks about how her interest in extension work developed and the role of extension work in North Carolina communities. “Hangin’ by a Thread” by Clover follows the interview. On This Is My Home, Joe hosts Tracy Whitaker, who shares some of her childhood memories of Sylva. The interview is followed by “Down at the Company Store” by the Company Store. On Down Another Road, Judy continues her talk with Worley Capps of Madison County, who talks about some traditional mountain remedies. “Handsome Molly” by Hylo Brown follows the interview, and the show ends with “I Need You” by Lindsey and Lauren Sowden.
