Description
The show begins with Amy’s story “A Time to Weep, a Time to Keep,” which concludes her recounting of her mother’s early married life. “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” accompanies the story. On Creative Corner, Doreyl talks again with Laura Boosinger and Joe Penland and welcomes Bobby Hicks to the conversation. Bobby talks about his life as a musician, and Laura and Joe briefly discuss Shindig on the Green and how it provided an opportunity for young musicians to learn. The interview is followed by “Back Up & Push” by Vance Trull. Amy’s guest on Stories of Mountain Folk is once more Howard Allman, who shares some more of his family stories. “Golden Moments” by Clover follows the interview. On This Is My Home, Joe talks again with Frank Moody, who talks about his school days and his life in Jackson County. The interview is followed by “Down in Caroline” by Balsam Range. On Down Another Road, Judy talks once more with Steve Ensley. He shares his memories of folk festivals in Swannanoa and how he came to know the song “Swannanoa Tunnel,” as well as some of the story behind the song. “Bound to Ride” by Company Store follows the interview, and “Go Rest High” by the Hominy Valley Boys wraps up the show.
