Description
Amy begins the show with her story “Wedding Day 1962,” sharing memories of her wedding to Robert Garza and her feelings about getting married. “Lean On Me” accompanies the story. On Creative Corner, Doreyl talks with Jeff Marley, the Heritage Arts Chair at the Nantahala School for the Arts located at Southwestern Community College’s Swain Campus. He talks about how he developed and pursued his interest in the arts and the work he does with the school. The interview is followed by “Evening Song” by the Cherokee National Children’s Choir. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy talks once again with Ray Carpenter, who talks about his love of poetry and how he practices his craft. “Back Then” by the Smoky Mountain Boys follows the interview. Mary Sue’s guest on Let Us March On is Wanda Moore of Sylva, who shares some stories about caring for her grandchildren and being involved in their lives. The interview is followed by “I’ll Be Alright” by Lessie Williams. On Down Another Road, Judy welcomes Sandy West and her husband Ron, the operators of Hot Springs Spa, who talk about the history of the spa up through the end of World War I. “Jack Lambert’s Letter” by Buddy Melton (from the Songs from Jackson County album) follows the interview, and “God’s Rainbow Promise” by Betty Collins Brown ends the show.
