Description

The show begins with Amy’s story “Looking Down the Road,” which tells of the path her life has taken and how she has looked to the future at various points in her life. “Here Comes the Sun” accompanies the story. Doreyl’s guest on Creative Corner is Carol Rifkin, who talks about her interest in mountain music and discusses some of the regional differences in traditional music in North Carolina. She also shares some of her experiences with Shindig on the Green. “Loneliest Road” by Music 2 Hues follows the interview. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy continues her conversation with Ray Carpenter, who talks about how he came to work for the Hartford Insurance Company in Atlanta after college. The interview is followed by “Shortnin’ Bread” by the Queen Family. Stories of the Cherokee features a December 29, 2012, interview that Robert Jumper conducted with Daniel Tramper, who talks about Cherokee medicine and spirituality, as well as how Cherokee dances compare to the dances of other Native American cultures. “Cherokee Stomp Dance” by Cherokee dancers follows the interview. On Down Another Road, Judy talks with Sandy West, who tells her life story, from her early childhood in France to finding her way to Madison County. The interview is followed by “Those Memories” by the Muses, and the show ends with “Old Friend” by Terry Edwards.
