Description

Amy shares another story from her early married life with “Making Memories” about holidays spent with her family as well as traditions she learned and ones she began. The background music is “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” played on guitar. On Creative Corner, Doreyl interviews Susan Coe of Bryson City. Susan is a potter who began her training at Southwestern Community College and has been making pottery for 8 years. She also shares some of her personal history. “Lonesome Polly Ann” by the Blue Ridge Rounders follows the interview. Amy’s guest is once again Barbara Sears McRae of Franklin. She discusses the history and treatment of African Americans in Macon County, as well as the difficulty in collecting information on the subject. The segment is followed by “Downward Road” by the Selah Jubilee Singers. On Stories of the Cherokee, Shawn interviews Laura Hill Pinnix, Cultural and Language teacher at Cherokee High School. They discuss the new app “Shiyo Level 1” that aids in understanding the Cherokee language. Flute music is provided by Matthew Tooni. Judy’s guest on Down Another Road is once again Ted White from Asheville. He shares another ghost tale about the Jackson Building in downtown Asheville. “Ghost Train” by Earl Taylor & Jim McCall follows the interview. The show concludes with “White Owl” by Terry Edwards.
