Description
Amy’s story “The Blizzard of 1969” begins the show with another episode from her early married life. The background music is “Whispered From Within” by Catherine Marie Charlton. On Creative Corner, Doreyl once again welcomes Connie Hogan. They talk about her shop, Tunnel Mountain Crafts in Dillsboro, and some of her crafters. “Dooley” by the Compost Mountain Boys follows the segment. Amy’s guest on Stories of Mountain Folk is once more Barbara Sears McRae from Franklin. Her column in the Franklin Press is called “Backyard Naturalist” focusing on birds and includes her own photographs. The interview is followed by “Down to the River to Pray” by the Muses. On This is My Home, Joe talks about the flood of 1940 in Jackson County and reads excerpts from Sylva Herald newspaper articles written about the flood by Rose Hooper Garrett. “God’s Rainbow Promise” by Betty Brown follows the segment. Judy’s guest on Down Another Road is Ted White from Asheville. He shares a ghost tale about Helen’s Bridge on Beaucatcher Mountain. The story is followed by “The Ghost of Henry Lee” by Tom Godleski & Buncombe Turnpike. The show closes with “Old Slewfoot” by the McDowell Family.
