This photograph by George Masa (1885-1933) is captioned 'Dining Room of Camp Alice. Terminal of Motor Road where the trail start to the top of Mt. Mitchell.'� Masa, a native of Japan, settled in Asheville, North Carolina in 1915 and opened a photography studio in 1920. About 1924 Masa took a series of photographs for a photo album entitled 'Mount Mitchell and Views - Along Mt. Mitchell Motor Road.'� This photograph is on page 9 of the album.
