Description

In this letter of July 13, 1864 Levi Morrison Bogart (1842-1865) writes his "Dear Sister" M. J. Misemer, from a camp near Decator, Alabama. He tells her that he cannot answer her questions because no one will talk about their principles or politics. He describes the crops available in Alabama, corn and cotton, and explains that they foraged for a week to get enough feed for their horses and it was all from one man, but he still had plenty left over. He answers her question about which command he belongs to, the 1st Brigade 4th Division Cavalry Army Corps.
