Description

In this letter of August 17, 1864, Henry Marshall Misemer (1832-1865) writes his "Dear wife," Martha Misemer, from Decatur, Alabama. He shares where his company has been staying and about the fights they have had with the Rebels and that no one from his company has been killed. He mentions Rebel women and says they will fight before giving up the Confederacy. He asks if she received the money and the goods that he sent. He wants the kids to learn to write quickly so they can write to him. He sends his respects to Dr. D. and any inquiring friends.
