This photograph taken during a birthday party for Elizabeth (Betty) Barber (1938-2010) at her home on Russ Avenue in Waynesville is from film that was brought to Sherrill’s Studio for developing, but the prints were never picked up. The name written on the unclaimed envelope is Barber. Betty is in the middle back to the left of the mirror. She was born to Richard Neely Barber Jr. and Elizabeth Barber of Barber's Orchard on October 26, 1938. Sherrill’s studio was founded by George Dexter Sherrill (1879–1931) in 1902 and was the first photography studio in Haywood County.
