In this letter of July 1, 1939, Laura Kephart writes her son Leonard Kephart to let him know they made it home and that they had a fine visit with him. She tells him Barbara picked 5 quarts of strawberries at the Lurch and no one was home, so they picked the best. She shares that they had rain which was good for everything but the rye, which will need to be handpicked due to the wind and rain knocking it down.
