In this letter of December 24, 1945, Laura Kephart writes her son Leonard Kephart with news of the family. Roy is home on leave and she hopes to see him. Lucy has a 23-pound turkey for Christmas dinner and, although they wish the whole family could be together, they would have to rent a whole floor at the “Ithaca Hotel or Clinton House.” She mentions that she went to Mrs. Davenport’s funeral and that Barbara walked downtown and had not been out since her appendix was removed in October.
