(left to right) "Mrs. Kilpatrick," an unidentified man, and Dorothy Payne McClure sit around a table making woodcarvings, c. 1945. Brasstown Carver Dorothy (Dot) Payne McClure (1922-1958) took up carving as a way to earn money to support her family. Her daughter Helen Gibson also became a Brasstown Carver.
