Description
This photograph of Sam Carringer with two grandchildren, Jack and Roberta, was taken by Doris Ulmann in 1933 or 1934. The Carringer family was one of several families in the Brasstown, N.C. area who donated time and labor to help the John C. Campbell Folk School get started. The family lived in Carringer Cove near the Folk School and took part in school classes, dances, and activities.
