Description

Zebulon Weaver (1872-1948) was a lawyer and U.S. Representative from western North Carolina. He was a member of the North Carolina Park Commission and was involved in the land acquisition process that went towards establishment of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and development of the Blue Ridge Parkway. In this letter addressed to Weaver, Schulze points out that based on his experience as an E.C.W. Inspector in the Smoky Mountain National Park, cost accounting and cost expenditures could be improved for this park. He also requests Weaver to recommend his name to the Secretary of the Interior, in face of the upcoming plans for the regionalization of the National Park Service, for the position of Regional Forester which will put the park under his jurisdiction.
